Under the leadership of coach Jimmy Rose, Niagara Falls Collegiate Vocational Institute (N.F.C.V.I.) won the Ontario Interscholastic Senior Basketball Championships three years running 1951-52-53. In 1951, N.F.C.V.I. defeated Humberside 43-32 and then won the Queens University Invitational when they beat Kingston Collegiate 75-26. In 1952, N.F.C.V.I. Seniors beat Windsor Patterson 65-63 to win for the second straight year. They played three games in 24 hours eliminating Ottawa Tech. That year, they also won the Queens University Tournament. In 1953, for the third straight year, the N.F.C.V.I. Senior Basketball team won the championship by defeating Assumption Runnymede and North Toronto. They played 71 games with no losses and a school record. They always played as a team and were proud to do so.
