Leo A. Burger generously gave up many hours of his time to the Niagara Falls community for over thirty- five years. Leo has been a prominent figure in the organization of softball and fastball teams/leagues at all levels in the Province of Ontario.
Since the 1960's Leo has participated as an official in the Niagara Regional softball leagues. As a president of the league in 1967,Leo campaigned to erect lights at Ker park to give this City one of the best playing fields in Ontario. From this start, Leo also co-ordinated many major fastball tournaments. Leo was involved with the forming of the Labatt's Softball Tournament which has been one of the most successful sports events in this part of the Province. Leo’s quality organizational skills showcased Niagara Falls by attracting top teams and large crowds to tournaments. Leo A. Burger spent many hours as a goodwill ambassador for Niagara Falls, through his love and dedication for a sport.
