Full size image of plaque When Carol Bielawski's daughter's soccer team needed a coach, Carol did not hesitate to respond. In 1973, she became one of Niagara FaIls Girls Soccer Club's first coaches. This was the initial step in her more than 20 year volunteer involvement with girls soccer. In 1974, Carol joined the executive of Niagara Falls Girls Soccer Club and remained involved in various capacities until l977. Her duties included serving as registrar, coach, convenor, referee and, for a time, as president. In addition, Carol was one of the founding members of the group responsible for forming Regional Girls Soccer and acted as its President. During her involvement, Carol encouraged both Niagara Falls Girls Soccer and Niagara Regional Girls Soccer to include a Senior Women's Division so that there would be a place for young women to continue playing when they left girls soccer. With a strong executive led by Carol, girls soccer in the City has grown rapidly to its present healthy status.
