Bill Black has been known for many years in Niagara Falls as an energetic, hard working and devoted soccer proponent. Bill immigrated from Northern Ireland in 1952, and has been an important part of the local soccer scene ever since. Bill was one of the key figures in organizing Minor Soccer in Niagara Falls in 1955, and was one of the first team sponsors in 1964. Bill, a well- known local businessman, has devoted countless hours to the sport he loves and to the youth of Niagara Falls.
Since 1955, Bill has participated fully at all levels of soccer, from coaching to playing, to officiating to administrating. Bill played senior ball from 1955 -1978, but it is officiating where his heart is. Bill Black is one of the top officials in Ontario refereeing for many international tournaments including the Sun Bowl in Tampa, Florida in 1988 and the U.S.A. Cup in Minnesota in 1988.
