Stamford Lorenzo Juvenile Hockey Team 1959 In 1959, the Stamford Lorenzo Juvenile Hockey Team became the first juvenile A team to win an Ontario championship for Niagara Falls. The team ended the 1959 season in first place and proceeded to capture the Niagara District championship. The Stamford Lorenzo Team then swept three series, defeat- ing Oakville in the quarter finals two games straight, Wallaceburg in the semi-finals two games straight, and Bowmanville in the finals four games straight, to win the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) title. The 1959 Stamford Lorenzo juvenile hockey team's outstanding performance resulting in the OMHA championship is an accomplishment unparalleled by another Niagara Falls team to date at the juvenile level. |
