Individual champions and group record- breakers in Central Ontario Secondary Schoo1 Association (C.O.S.S.A.) track and field events, the Stamford high school athletes captured the Sir Arthur Currie Memorial Trophy as team champions of Class Five for boys under 20 years, and were awarded the title of Dominion Champion. The ten Stamford athletes competed in the day long Dominion and Quebec-Provincial Championship event for schoolboys at Montreal's Molson Stadium, earning five first place finishes, establishing records in the one mile relay and shot put, six seconds and a third place finish. Ruish was a triple winner, garnering firsts in the Class Three eight pound shot put and broad jump events in addition to a victory in Class Four discus throw, earning him Quebec Provincial Championships. Stamford's only other competitor outside of Class Five was Washington, who finished third in Class Four 440 yard run. Points for the Dominion Class Five team title were compiled through a win in the one mile relay by Conn, Robinson, Stephenson and Washington; Kilkenny's first and McGowan's socond place finish in the running broad jump event; Conn's second in the 220 yard dash; a second in the one mile run by Martin; second place efforts by Burns in the 12 pound shot put and discus throw and McGowan's runner- up placing in the pole vault.
